Terms & conditions

The rules for using this website, uploading bills, and requesting a review.

Last updated: July 15, 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Clear Current Technologies Inc. (“Clear Current,” “we,” “us”), 15 E. Putnam Avenue, No. 291, Greenwich, CT 06830-5415, United States. They govern your use of this website and the forms on it — uploading bills, requesting a demo, contacting us, and applying for a job. By using the site or submitting anything through it, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

These Terms cover the website only. If your organization becomes a Clear Current customer, a separate written agreement governs the product and any data you use it with — that agreement, not this page, controls the paid service.

Who can use this site

This is a business product. You may use the site only if you are at least 16 and able to enter into these Terms, and — when you submit bills or a request on behalf of an organization — you confirm you’re authorized to do so for that organization.

What Clear Current does — and doesn’t

Clear Current audits electric utility bills. When you upload bills, our engine recalculates each charge from the applicable tariff and usage and flags where the billed amount differs from the calculated amount, along with higher-level savings opportunities. A few things to be clear about:

  • We audit electric bills. Other service types (gas, water, sewer, and the like) may be captured but are not audited.
  • Findings are discrepancies and opportunities — a case that a charge looks wrong or that money could be saved. They are estimates, not a promise of a refund or a specific result.
  • Acting on a finding generally means a dispute or change process with your utility or supplier. Some charges (for example, certain pass-through amounts) may not be independently validated, and small differences within a tolerance are treated as correct.
  • Nothing on this site is financial, legal, tax, or engineering advice.

Bills and other things you submit

You keep ownership of the files, information, and content you submit (“Submissions”). So we can do what you’ve asked, you grant Clear Current a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and analyze your Submissions to prepare your review, run the demo, respond to you, and improve accuracy. We handle Submissions as described in our Privacy Policy — including how long we keep them.

By submitting, you confirm that:

  • you have the right to share the Submissions with us for this purpose;
  • doing so doesn’t break the law or any agreement, or infringe anyone’s rights; and
  • you won’t upload someone else’s personal or account data unless you’re authorized to.

Acceptable use

When you use this site, you agree not to:

  • use it for anything unlawful, deceptive, or harmful;
  • upload malware, or files you know to be corrupt or malicious;
  • probe, scan, or try to break the site’s security or access data that isn’t yours;
  • scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the site, or use bots to submit forms (we use anti-abuse measures, including bot checks and rate limits);
  • copy, reverse-engineer, or resell the site or its underlying software; or
  • misrepresent who you are or who you represent.

Results are estimates, not guarantees

Any savings, recovery, or error figures shown on the site or produced from your bills are illustrative estimates based on representative engagements and the data available to us. Actual outcomes vary by portfolio, utility, tariff, and the outcome of any dispute, and are not guaranteed. You are responsible for the decisions you make and for confirming anything material with your utility, supplier, or your own advisors.

Our intellectual property

The site — its content, design, and software — belongs to Clear Current or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, revocable license to view and use the site for its intended purpose. The Clear Current name and logo are our trademarks; don’t use them without permission. This section doesn’t affect your ownership of your Submissions.

Job applications

If you apply for a role, submitting an application doesn’t create an employment relationship or any offer, and doesn’t obligate us to respond or to hire. We handle application materials as described in the Privacy Policy.

Third-party links and services

The site may link to third-party sites and services (for example, LinkedIn). We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or practices; your use of them is governed by their terms.

Disclaimers

The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clear Current will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the site — even if we’ve been advised such damages were possible. To the extent we are found liable, our total liability relating to the site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Clear Current harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Submissions, your misuse of the site, or your breach of these Terms.

Changes to the site and these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site, and we may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date above; material changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of the site means you accept them.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the State of Connecticut, where Clear Current is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut. Where required by local law, you may have additional rights.
